Woody's
Woody's gets our pick for the #1 place to 'watch the game'
due to their great wings, which happen to be 30 cents on Sundays,
as well as their supply of TVs playing different games around
the league. For fantasy football owners, Woody's is a perfect
place to take in 4 games at once while drinking beer and having
great wings surrounded by other patrons who you can, assume
are at Woody's for one reason: . |

Buffalo WIld Wings
Buffalo Wild Wings gets our nod as the #2 place to watch the
NFL on Sunday's for the same reasons Woody's topped our list.
The one notable difference: the price of wings. BW3 has wing
specials on Tuesday (also at 30 cents apiece), so on Sunday
you'll end up paying about twice as much for wings. Don't
let that deter you, however. We ranked BW3 second for a reason:
their wings are outstanding, no matter which of the 2 dozen
sauces you have them slathered in, from regular Buffalo-style
degrees to Spicy Garlic to Carribean Jerk, and they have 3
TVs that are as big as any in the area, as well as over 20
smaller TVs so you can be conident that if your game is on
TV anywhere, it will be on at BW3. BW3 also has NTN 'Playmaker'
where you get to compete during the game with other bar patrons
nationwide and show off your football knowledge in the trivia
and 'play prediction' sections. Like our #1 pick, if you are
at BW3 on a Sunday afternoon, you are there for football,
period. |

Jillian's
Jillian's is a slight contrast to our previous 2 picks. The
wings at Jillian's are nothing special. This is not to say
they are bad...but you won't go raving to your friends that
they have to go to Jillian's to try their awesome Smoky Southwestern
wings like you would after a trip to BW3. However, Jillian's
has more TV's than either of our top 2 picks (probably more
than any bar in Rochester for that matter), and a wider selection
of food than either BW3 or Woody's. There is also a great
gaming area upstairs, pool tables, and a mini-bowling alley.
Jillian's is perfect for fantasy footbal owners who need
to watch 4+ games at once, and for the casual football fan
who just wants to watch his team (the Bills, we hope) and
then play in the arcade during halftime. |

The Brickyard Pub
It doesn't get any better than The Brickyard Pub if you want
to sit outside and have a few drinks or light up a cigarette.
They sport the largest patio in Rochester, but the real nod
as #1 goes to The Brickyard Pub because they have a second
bar outside so you don't have to venture back inside and work
your way up to the only bar to get a refill. Friday's the
patio has one more perk: Mark's Pizza caters the free happy
hour food. |

Mex
Mex gets our second pick for bars where you must go if you're
looking to sit outside on the patio and have a few drinks
for a few reasons. There is almost no better place to sit
outside and people watch than at Mex. Flanked by The
Jungle and The
Blue Room, and with other popular Alexander Street bars
less than a minute's walk away, you could sit outside Mex
and watch bar-goers all night without getting bored. Add to
this Mex's casual atmosphere and great Mexican food, and you
can easily see why Mex makes our list of Best Places To Have
a Drink On the Patio. |

Nathaniel's
For those of you who want a quieter place to enjoy a drink
outside, Nathaniel's is our top pick. We can't very well have
two #1's however, and so we give Nathaniel's our silver medal.
From Nathaniel's patio, you have a view of Downtown Rochester,
but more importantly: you have a relaxed environment, a casual
crowd, and if you go on Monday or Wednesday for the 'Steak
Out' you are guaranteed some oustanding food. Now you know
why it was so hard to push Nathaniel's down to number 2. |
